Chris & Heidi got married in 2011. In 2012 Chris had his first clonic/tonic seizure and this is when their epilepsy journey began. It would be this journey that would inspire his love of hockey and writing a children's book with his wife.
After years of health struggles, and surgeries Chris is in his best health despite having seizures daily. With their new found love of everything hockey, they decided to move to Minnesota.
Heidi is an Advanced Practice Esthetician at a holistic spa and Chris joined a hockey league. They both continue to be advocates for Epilepsy awareness.
April Lavely-Robinson. She is an experienced writer and Illustrator based out of Colorado with a fun, whimsical style. The process of writing and illustrating a book takes time and she worked closely with us to make this book exactly what we had envisioned. Her experience and creativity helped create a book that beautifully tells our story. We are so grateful to have collaborated with her to make our dream of this book come true. During our journey navigating life with epilepsy, finding support among friends and family was invaluable. We are so grateful to those who were always there for us.
Along the way we found Eric's Corner Epilepsy Resources, a support group based in Northern California. This is where we found support, comfort and understanding from others affected by epilepsy. Eric's Corner played an instrumental role in supporting us through the darkest phases of our journey. Learning so much from the people of Eric's Corner and wanting to help others as well, Heidi joined the board of directors in 2019 and is still on the board today.
